Jishnu Dev Varma, former Deputy Chief Minister of Tripura, voiced sharp criticism against the previous Left Front regime on Monday, citing their failure to foster a conducive environment for industrial development in the state. Varma underscored the transformative changes ushered in since the BJP assumed power in Tripura, asserting a notable improvement in the state’s industrial climate.”The state has witnessed significant advancements in communication systems and infrastructure, aimed at facilitating the establishment of new industries.

The introduction of a streamlined single-window system has attracted industrialists, both local and from afar. Contrastingly, the previous administration provided scant support for industrial ventures,” remarked Varma. Highlighting the abundant natural resources at the state’s disposal, including bamboo, rubber, tea, agarwood, and gas, Varma emphasized the enthusiasm among the state’s youth to spearhead new industrial initiatives.

“Recognizing that government employment alone cannot address the issue of unemployment, the Tripura Industrial Development Corporation Limited has allocated one thousand crores to create alternative employment avenues,” Varma stated, further echoing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s commitment to the holistic development of the North-Eastern states.
