In a significant development for Tripura’s indigenous community, Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma, the founder of Tipra Motha and scion of the royal family, extended his thanks to Union Home Minister Amit Shah. This acknowledgment comes as the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) announced the candidacy of Maharani Kriti Singh Debbarma for the East Tripura (ST) seat in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Pradyot expressed his gratitude towards Home Minister Shah, highlighting the importance of sending representatives from Tipra Motha to Delhi. He emphasized the necessity to ensure the smooth implementation of agreements without encountering past obstacles, which could impede progress for all stakeholders.

Pradyot stressed the strategic selection of an individual who would actively contribute to advancing the constitutional rights of Tripura’s indigenous people. He underscored the pivotal role of Tipra Motha in shaping the electoral landscape, indicating that their participation could significantly influence the outcome of the Lok Sabha elections. The move to nominate Maharani Kriti Singh Debbarma, Pradyot’s elder sister, resonates with Tipra Motha’s vision of safeguarding the interests of indigenous communities. Pradyot affirmed that their decision aligns with their commitment to ensuring the unhindered execution of historic accords crucial for the welfare of Tripura’s indigenous population.

“We are pleased that Home Minister Amit Shah lent an ear to our concerns,” stated Pradyot, expressing satisfaction with the responsiveness of the authorities. The selection of the right candidate for Delhi signifies Tipra Motha’s proactive stance in navigating potential challenges and advocating for the rights of marginalized communities.
