Jagadish Debbarma, Chairman of the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC), voiced concerns over the stagnation of development in remote areas of the district council due to delayed funds from the Tripura Government. Addressing attendees at the inauguration of a new sub-zonal office in the TTAADC, Debbarma underscored the persistent challenges faced by the council in executing developmental initiatives amid financial constraints.

During his inaugural address, the chairman emphasized that the long-standing demands of the local indigenous communities have remained unmet due to the delayed release of funds by the state government. He lamented the inability of the TTAADC administration to utilize its allocated budget of over one thousand crores effectively. Debbarma elucidated, “The persistent delay in fund disbursement hampers our ability to carry out essential development work in the TTAADC area. Despite having substantial budgetary allocations, the council’s efforts are hindered by the withholding of funds.”

Highlighting the adverse impact of this financial bottleneck on the standard of living in remote TTAADC areas, Debbarma expressed his earnest hope for expedited development through the implementation of the tripartite agreement between the Government of India, Government of Tripura, and Tipra Motha.
