Assam Rifles seize 620 kgs of marijuana worth Rs 2.8 crores

On 15th March 2024, Assam Rifles conducted a successful operation resulting in the seizure of 620 kilograms of marijuana with an estimated street value of Rs 2.8 crores. The operation, carried out in collaboration with the Customs Department, targeted a warehouse located in the General Area of Hezamara, West Tripura District, Tripura.

Acting on credible intelligence, a joint task force comprising Assam Rifles personnel and Customs Department officials launched the operation. Subsequently, 620 kilograms of marijuana, valued at approximately Rs 2.8 crores, were confiscated from the targeted warehouse in Hezamara, West Tripura District.

The seized contraband has been handed over to the Customs Department for further investigation and legal proceedings.
