During an election campaign he said that he will move to the Supreme Court to grant reopening of the closed madrassas in Assam. Around 1,281 madrassas were converted to schools.

He said, “UP government announced the closure of madrasas and later, the Supreme Court condemned them. With this reference, we will go to the Supreme Court and get the order from there.”
