Residents of Tripura are urged to prepare for scorching temperatures as the Department of Meteorology Agartala issues a stern warning for the next five days. Dr. Partha Roy, a distinguished scientist from the department, raised concerns over the anticipated heatwave, advising locals to brace themselves for unusually high temperatures.

Dr. Roy highlighted that temperatures in various districts of the state are projected to soar above 35 degrees Celsius, significantly surpassing seasonal averages. Recent observations in Agartala city recorded a staggering temperature of 37.5 degrees Celsius, marking a substantial deviation of four degrees from the norm.

“Yesterday, temperatures spiked to 37 degrees Celsius, reflecting a 3.7-degree surge from typical levels. Despite the intense heat, there’s a ray of hope for relief in certain districts, including Dhalai, North, and Unakoti District, where rainfall is forecasted over the next three days,” stated Dr. Roy.
