India hosted the most prestigious award ceremony, the Bharat Ratna Award at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Saturday.
President Draupadi Murmu honoured the recipients-former Prime Ministers Chaudhary Charan Singh and PV Narasimha Rao, former Bihar Chief Minister Karpoori Thakur, and renowned agricultural scientist MS Swaminathan.
Among the awardees, only L .K. Advani, aged 96, is alive. The awards of the other recipients were received by their family members on behalf.
