Ashish Kumar Saha, President of the Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee and candidate for the West Tripura Lok Sabha seat, asserted on Sunday that the upcoming Lok Sabha election would serve as a decisive response to the challenges faced during the BJP’s governance in Tripura over the past six years. Speaking upon his arrival from Delhi at the MBB Airport, Saha highlighted the determination of the people to secure the well-being of citizens and uphold democratic values.

“The approaching Lok Sabha election will symbolize a collective response to those undermining democracy and the Constitution, particularly in Tripura, where peace and dignity are paramount,” stated Saha. He criticized the BJP’s rule in the state, citing a decline in the people’s welfare and democratic rights infringements, and expressed confidence in the electorate’s ability to voice their concerns through voting.

“During the BJP’s six-year tenure, Tripura witnessed a deterioration in its societal fabric, marked by poverty and assaults on democratic principles. The people will address these issues at the ballot box. I am optimistic about the nationwide support for Congress, exemplified by Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, which has resonated in our state as well,” affirmed Saha.
