In a scathing critique, Tripura’s Former Deputy Chief Minister, Jishnu Dev Varma, launched a blistering attack on the CPIM and Congress, accusing them of systematically suppressing the indigenous population under the guise of development.
Addressing a gathering at a joining program in Padmanagar Village Council No. 44, where over 136 voters defected to the BJP from various opposition parties, Dev Varma underscored the BJP’s unwavering commitment to genuine politics centered on the welfare and progress of the people.
“We believe in substantive politics, devoted to the upliftment and advancement of our citizens. Unlike some other parties, which resort to disruptive tactics like road blockades and protests, the BJP is focused on offering solutions to societal challenges. Sustainable development cannot thrive amidst perpetual unrest; we must collectively strive for resolutions,” stated Dev Varma.
Asserting the discernment of the populace, Dev Varma emphasized that while people may err, they are not gullible.
“Residents have witnessed the tangible progress achieved in the Charilam Assembly Constituency over the past year. It is the duty of MLAs to address the grievances of the people and enact solutions. Sadly, many have been conspicuously absent from their designated areas. Every individual aspires for their community and infrastructure to flourish, ensuring a promising future for their offspring. The indigenous populace, having endured years of suppression under CPIM and Congress regimes, now finds solace in the BJP’s proactive approach to rectify these injustices. Instead of playing politics by merely spotlighting problems, it’s imperative for all stakeholders to unite in pursuit of societal and state development. The prevailing lack of cohesion (‘thansa’) is exacerbating our challenges,” he added passionately.
