Government Railway Police in Tripura apprehended three Bangladeshi women who had illegally entered the state with the help of border touts, seeking better living conditions and job opportunities. The trio, identified as Mousumi, Jharna, and Rehana from Dhaka, crossed the borders into Tripura via Sonamura in the Sepahijala district. Acting on intelligence regarding their plans to travel to Bengal by train, law enforcement swiftly arrested them upon their arrival at the railway station.
The detained individuals will face charges under relevant sections of the Indian Passport Act.”We received prior information about the entry of some Bangladeshi nationals into the state who intended to travel to West Bengal from the Agartala railway station. Based on this intelligence, we alerted our forces and detained them,” said a GRP official.
Additionally, three Indian citizens providing assistance to the Bangladeshi nationals were also apprehended at the same location. Residents of Sonamura subdivision in Tripura, the arrested individuals are identified as Amjar Alam, Rahima Begum, and Maman Hossain.
