The Tripura government has approved an extra Rs 13 crore from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund in a major move to support post-flood rehabilitation efforts. The announcement was made on Tuesday by Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, who said that the entire amount of funding for flood relief and restoration now stands at Rs 25 crore. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Dr. Saha said, “The government has approved an additional ₹13 crore from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to address post-flood damages from August 2024. The Revenue Department (Disaster Management) will use the fund to support impacted areas and offer necessary aid.”
Numerous districts were devastated by the August 2024 floods, which severely damaged homes, livelihoods, and infrastructure. The administration responded by launching preparations for reconstruction and emergency aid. The administration hopes to expedite repair efforts and provide essential assistance to individuals affected by the calamity with the most recent financial boost.
