Durex’s The Birds and Bees Talk (TBBT) initiative is set to make a bold statement at the 25th Hornbill Festival in Kohima, Nagaland, with the launch of Asia’s first-ever Consent Café. This innovative move arrives at a time when discussions around consent, equity, and healthy relationships are more critical than ever. By combining art, music, and immersive experiences, the Consent Café will serve as a much-needed platform for conversations on gender-based violence and societal change. Inaugurated by Shri TemjenImna Along, Nagaland’s Tourism Minister, this Café aims to engage the 150,000 expected festival attendees in challenging conversations about gender norms and consent.

TBBT’s presence at the festival is further bolstered by a music carnival, an AI chatbot for consent education, and the second edition of a painting competition. These initiatives are a testament to the growing importance of education on life skills and inclusion.

In Agartala, Durex’s initiative holds tremendous potential for engagement. As awareness about gender equality grows among the youth of Agartala, programs like TBBT can provide a much-needed avenue for discussion and education. Agartala’s youthful demographic, keen on progressive values, will find TBBT’s cultural and educational focus particularly relevant in addressing critical social issues and fostering positive change.
