The Government of Nagaland has joined forces with Tata AIA Life Insurance to launch the Chief Minister’s Universal Life Insurance Scheme (CMULIS). This innovative scheme offers life insurance coverage of INR 2 lakh to primary earning members aged 18 to 60, with a particular focus on supporting individuals in unorganized sectors and low-income families.

Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio expressed his enthusiasm for the program, stating, “I am extremely happy to partner with Tata AIA Life Insurance and launch this scheme for the working population of Nagaland. We hope to enroll all earning individuals in Nagaland under this scheme, thereby ensuring the financial security of several families.” The state government will cover the insurance premium, making this initiative accessible to all eligible residents.

In Agartala, this scheme is poised to create significant economic opportunities. As families gain life insurance coverage, their financial security will likely boost consumer confidence, leading to increased spending on local goods and services. This uptick in economic activity can stimulate business growth and investment in Agartala, fostering a more robust market environment while enhancing the overall well-being of its residents.
