Manipur’s Education Minister, Thounaojam Basanta Kumar Singh, thus called out those who had been disrupting the education sector in the state by issuing a stern warning to the culprits. He gave his word that any steps taken by law enforcement against those that undermine peace and stability would be met with decisive action. Speaking during a news conference in Imphal at a time when there have been increasing issues in the field of education that have impacted how normally schools and colleges operate. He emphasized that, particularly when the state is working to raise educational standards, a stable academic atmosphere is crucial to the overall growth of students and the Manipur education system.

Singh also urged the general public to support the department of education’s initiatives as it works to improve the field, which it has designated as a priority. Thounaojam Basanta Kumar Singh, the minister of education for Manipur, issued a strong warning in response to a widely shared Facebook post that requested a meeting at Dhanamanjuri University (DM University) on September 18 to address a number of ongoing issues in the university. Since the blog post lacked an organization’s signature or emblem and the authorities believed it was the work of anti-social forces out to disrupt peace and education, it started to garner attention.

On this post, Minister Singh highlighted that the government has a strict no-nonsense approach towards anything that would undermine activities that would weaken or damage the education system and quiet the delicate peace that exists within the educational institutions of Manipur. Several student bodies, including the Dhanamanjuri University Student’s Union and six others have dissociated themselves with the post by publicly stating that they had nothing to do with the proposed rally. These statements are in line with the government stance: supporting a stable and peaceful environment for academics.

The public has been informed by Minister Singh that the Education Department is making every effort to minimize the damages the education sector has suffered over the past few days as a result of the numerous disruptions. The general instability has caused significant challenges for the state’s educational institutions, and now the government wants to normalize things there while also making sure that students’ academic goals are not jeopardized any more. Although students are free to voice their complaints, he continued, “activities such as unauthorized meet and rallies at unapproved places, if insisted on, will not be allowed to disturb the stability of the education sector.”
