Flipkart Grocery reports 1.6X growth, leads sustainability with over 50% EV deliveries

Flipkart Grocery has recorded a remarkable 1.6X year-on-year growth, solidifying its dominance in the e-commerce sector. Notably, over 50% of its grocery deliveries are now conducted using electric vehicles (EVs), reflecting a 140% year-on-year increase in EV adoption.

Flipkart stands out as the only e-commerce platform offering next-day delivery across 200 cities, including key metros such as Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata, Mumbai, and New Delhi, as well as tier 2+ towns like Anantapur, Berhampore, and Vellore. The growth is driven by value offerings, convenient delivery slots, and a wide selection of fresh groceries.Leveraging homegrown technology, Flipkart has pinpointed high-demand hotspots and catered to diverse consumer needs across India. Top-selling categories include staples like oil, ghee, atta, and FMCG products such as tea, coffee, and detergents.

To support this growth, Flipkart has expanded its infrastructure with 11 new grocery fulfillment centers across major cities, enhancing its capacity to handle 1.6 lakh orders daily. These centers span over 12.14 lakh sq. ft. and ensure a robust supply chain.Hari Kumar G, Vice President and Head of Grocery at Flipkart, commented, “Our growth in the grocery sector underscores our commitment to innovation and customer-centricity.
