Loco Pilot Died After Being Hit by Rajdhani Express in Bihar’s Gaya District

A loco pilot named Pankaj Kumar Singh, age 40, died after being hit by the Rajdhani Express at Gajandi station of Gaya-Koderma Valley railway section. The deceased was identified to be a resident of village Jankinagar, police station Naya Rampur, district Munger, reports jagran.com.

The loco pilot was working at Gomo Railway Headquarters. The tragedy took place at 4.30 a.m. on Saturday(4, May) morning. Sharing information about the tragedy, RPF Inspector Koderma Jawahar Lal told that in the morning, loco pilot Pankaj Kumar Singh from Gajandi station limit point number P 72B, between kilometer 403/28(02)-403/28(01), light engine from Gomo in Gajandi brought it and put it in the Loco Wafer.

After doing that, he passed the railway track with his assistant loco pilot, Gopal Kumar, and was directing towards the office.

According to jagran.com, while going to office, he got hit by the engine of 120840 New Delhi Ranchi Rajdhani Express, which was at high speed on the down line. As he got hit by the train, on-duty loco pilot Pankaj Kumar Singh died on the spot. The required departmental action is being conducted by taking possession of the dead body. However, there was no disruption in railway services due to the incident.
