Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Tuesday said the state government was tirelessly working for the all-round welfare of people from all sections of society.
Speaking at the inauguration of the “Chief Minister Minority Development Scheme” at the Pragna Bhavan in Agartala where he handed over loan assistance to the beneficiaries, Saha called upon people to become knowledgeable and empowered to build a stronger society.
Under the scheme, around 1,500 beneficiaries from minority communities across the state will receive financial assistance of Rs 10,000 each to support their livelihood activities.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister handed over symbolic cheques to five beneficiaries.
“I firmly believe that this scheme will play an important role in improving the standard of living of the people of the minority community in the state and will further strengthen their economic foundation,” he said.
The Chief Minister said education is the key to overcoming superstition and strengthening society. He also sought cooperation from all sections of people in building a new and developed Tripura.
Speaking at the programme, Minority Welfare Minister Shukla Charan Noatia said the initiative aims to make minority communities self-reliant and economically empowered.
MLA Tafajjal Hossain also addressed the gathering. The programme was organised by the Minority Cooperative Society.
