Tripura Finance Minister Tables State Budget 2026-27 In Assembly

Tripura Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy on Monday tabled the Budget for financial year 2026-27 on the floor of the State Assembly.
The total Budget estimate stands at Rs 34,212.31 crore, showcasing a growth of 5.52 percent over the previous year. Notably, no new taxes have been proposed in the Budget.
Capital expenditure has been increased to 8,945.92 crore, marking a rise of 13.19 percent to boost economic growth.
Among the major allocations, the health sector has been allotted Rs 2,441.50 crore, while the rural development department has been allocated Rs 4,094.57 crore,
Agriculture and allied sectors have a budgetary provision of 1,985.61 crore, whereas, education has been allocated with 6,439.56 crore.
The budget also proposes several initiatives including 60 new rural markets, 100 Farmers’ Advisory Centres, and 30 Farmers’ Knowledge Centres.
An Agriculture Farm Machinery Promotion and Training Institute will be set up at Mohanpur in West Tripura, the state Budget entails.
In the fisheries sector, a State Fisheries Awareness Centre will be established at Gurkhabasti in Agartala along with four Pisciculture Knowledge Centres across the state.
The budget also proposes the establishment of Tripura Government Technical University and Tripura Government Women’s University, along with the construction of 12 new High and Higher Secondary School buildings.
