The Budget Session of the Tripura Legislative Assembly for the financial year 2026–27 will begin on March 13 and continue till March 25, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ratan Lal Nath informed after the Business Advisory Committee meeting on Friday.
Nath said the session would commence with the address of the Governor on the opening day.
A condolence motion will also be moved in the House on the demise of former minister Bishwabandhu Sen, following which the House will be adjourned for the day.
The State Budget will be presented on March 16.
The session will also include the presentation of the Supplementary Budget for the financial year 2025-26.
Three new bills are expected to be introduced during the session, including bills related to a Medical University, a Technical University and a Government Women’s University.
The Business Advisory Committee meeting was chaired by Acting Speaker Ramprasad Paul. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ratan Lal Nath and other members of the committee were also present at the meeting.
