Elderly woman dies after sustaining injuries in suspected robbery in Agartala

A 75-year-old woman, Raj Laxmi Bardhan, died from her injuries at Govind Ballabh Pant Hospital following a brutal assault by suspected robbers at her home in Agartala near Banikya Chowmuhani. The incident occurred on Monday afternoon when her son, Uttam Bardhan, returned home around 4 PM to find his mother near the entrance, bound and suffering from head injuries. She was hospitalized immediately but succumbed to her injuries the next morning. Preliminary investigations indicate that unidentified intruders intended to commit robbery, as items belonging to the victim, including two gold bangles and a pair of earrings, were reported missing. A case has been filed at Bodhjungnagar police station, and the investigation is ongoing.
