Bandhan Bank has enabled seamless State tax and non-tax payments for Assam through the Assam e-GRAS portal, allowing customers to make payments through both online and offline modes. The platform allows users to generate challans and log in using their registered mobile number or username to initiate payments. As many as 109 Bandhan Bank branches in Assam will assist customers in availing the facility.
The service covers a wide range of State taxes, including property, land revenue, agriculture and sales tax, along with non-tax revenues such as VAT, application and examination fees, fines, penalties, dividends from state enterprises and other government receipts. Customers receive instant acknowledgements with GRN and CIN and can download challans from the portal. The system ensures secure transactions through mandatory two-factor authentication and offers 24×7 access. Payments can also be made offline at bank counters through cash or cheque, while online options include Internet Banking (Retail and Corporate) and Payment Gateway modes such as Net Banking, Debit Card, Credit Card and UPI. Branches will also accept cheques and demand drafts from other banks.
Rajinder Kumar Babbar, ED & Chief Business Officer, Bandhan Bank, said the integration strengthens convenient and secure digital payment infrastructure in Assam and supports transparency and ease of payments. In Agartala, such integrations are expected to influence regional banking trends, particularly in the Northeast, where digital tax compliance and multi-channel payment systems are witnessing steady growth. With Bandhan Bank operating around 500 banking outlets in Assam, similar models could enhance financial service accessibility across neighbouring markets including Tripura.
