A 19-year-old university student from Tripura was reportedly assaulted and raped by her live-in partner in Gurugram, Delhi-NCR. According to police sources, the accused physically abused her, recorded the assault, and issued threats. The survivor’s family, devastated by the incident, has called for strict action, with her mother expressing their pain. An FIR has been filed against the accused, a resident of Narela, under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at Badshahpur police station based on the survivor’s account. The complaint states that the woman met the accused via an online app in September 2025, leading to physical relations under the false pretense of marriage, after which they cohabitated in Gurugram. The abuse escalated over time, involving severe physical violence, including being hit with a steel bottle, having her head smashed against walls and furniture, and being struck with an earthen pot. Additionally, the accused allegedly poured sanitizer on her private parts and attempted to set them on fire. Compromising videos of the survivor were also reportedly filmed during the assaults.
