Tripura has taken a significant step towards promoting Artificial Intelligence awareness ahead of the upcoming INDIA AI Impact Summit 2026.
Chief Secretary of Tripura, J.K. Sinha on Friday inaugurated the Regional Level AI Awareness Workshop organised by the Directorate of Information Technology at Pragya Bhavan in Agartala as part of the pre-summit outreach programme.
During the event, two short videos were also showcased, highlighting India’s AI ecosystem.
Addressing the audience, Chief Secretary Sinha said the core motto of the workshop was “wellness for all and happiness for all,” which also reflects the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi.
He described Artificial Intelligence as the most evolved dimension of human life and urged people not to fear technology, but to accept it as a natural part of human evolution.
Sinha stressed the importance of re-skilling and continuous learning, stating that what is relevant today may not remain relevant tomorrow.
He assured the students that the Government of India and the Government of Tripura stand firmly behind them in supporting skill development and innovation.
The workshop aimed to sensitise students, academicians, and professionals about the expanding role of Artificial Intelligence in governance and public service delivery.
Nearly 350 participants, including students and faculty members from premier institutions such as NIT Agartala, National Law University Tripura, Indian Institute of Information Technology, and National Forensic Sciences University, took part in the workshop.
