Dr. G. Supreme Court Justice R. Mahadevan, chief guest, conferred degrees to 8,310 undergraduates, 2,802 postgraduates, and 451 doctoral graduates, while 68 students received gold medals for exceptional performance and 203 were recognized for academic rankings.

The event also saw Tamil Nadu Police Academy Director DGP Sandeep Rai Rathore awarded a Ph.D. in Disaster Management and the inauguration of student hostels named after Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam and Jagadish Chandra Bose. Times of India CEO Sivakumar Sundaram attended as guest of honor.

Dr. Viswanathan highlighted that India currently allocates only 3% of GDP to education versus the recommended 6%, calling for expanded higher education infrastructure to achieve a 50% Gross Enrollment Ratio. He urged students to combat corruption and black money, framing education as a catalyst for long-term economic growth. Justice Mahadevan lauded VIT’s technological integration in academics and research, stressing that ethical and continuous learning are essential for India’s economic competitiveness.
