iPhone 18 To Skip September 2026 Launch

Apple has traditionally unveiled its flagship iPhones in September or October, but that could change with the iPhone 18 series. According to a report by South Korea’s ETNews, Apple may skip the standard iPhone 18 launch in September 2026, potentially pushing its release to 2027. While the iPhone 18 Pro, 18 Pro Max, and a new iPhone 18 Air are still expected to debut in fall 2026, the base model and the more affordable iPhone 18e may arrive in early 2027.

This shift marks a major change in Apple’s launch cycle, possibly dividing releases into two phases — high-end models in the second half of the year and standard variants in the first half of the following year. The decision could influence buyers, especially those looking for more budget-friendly options, as they may need to wait longer.

Reports suggest this new timeline may be linked to Apple’s plan to introduce its first foldable iPhone in 2026. The phased release strategy was also previously hinted at by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo and The Information. Meanwhile, the iPhone 17 series is expected to launch on September 9, 2025.
