Tripura CM discusses with the NFR delegation about railway services and infrastructure

In Agartala, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha met with a Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) group to talk about the state’s infrastructure and railway service development. Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha was visited by the group at the Secretariat in Agartala, which was led by NFR General Manager (Construction) Arun Kumar Chowdhury.

Discussion topics included the status of the construction of 23 railway overbridges, the introduction of electric passenger trains from Badarpur to Sabroom, the conversion of single-line railway tracks to double-line tracks, the launch of the Agartala-Guwahati intercity rail service, the advancement of electrification of railway lines, and the modernization of Agartala, Dharmanagar, and Udaipur railway stations under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme.

The introduction of the Agartala-Jammu, Agartala-Puri, and Agartala-Gaya Express trains, the establishment of alternate railway lines from Pencharthal to Dharmanagar via Kailashahar, the establishment of railway lines from Jirania railway station to Bodhjungnagar and RK Nagar industrial estate, the introduction of the Vande Bharat Express from Guwahati to Agartala, the progress of the building of a fuel storage depot at Sekerkote, and the Agartala-Akhaura International rail project were also discussed at the meeting.

In order to make Agartala Railway Station a world-class railway station and maintain the cleanliness of other stations, the chief minister counseled the relevant railway authorities to take the required steps. Assistant Transport Commissioner Maitree Debnath and Chief Minister’s Secretary Pradeep Kumar Chakraborty attended the meeting.
