Together with the Customs department, the Border Security Force (BSF) in the Tripura South district carried out a raid and detained three smugglers who were found in possession of 100 kg of cannabis. According to the official, the event took place at the Lilagarh Tea Garden in the district’s Sabroom subdivision on Friday evening. A combined BSF and Customs Department team was established in response to a tip. After examining two cars in the Chhotakhil region, the team found 100 kg of cannabis, according to Elbin Singh, the superintendent of the customs department. Three people were taken into custody by the crew, who also confiscated three cell phones—including an iPhone—and Rs 1,49,000 in cash. Interrogation is ongoing, Singh said.
