Additional NDR funds for Tripura and Nagaland were sanctioned by the centre

An extra central assistant for Tripura and Nagaland has been authorized by the central government through the National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF). This was declared on X by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who also stated that the Modi government is steadfast in its assistance of those afflicted by the calamity. “Under the NDR fund, the MHA today authorized an additional Rs. 1554.99 crore in federal support for Andhra Pradesh, Nagaland, Odisha, Telangana, and Tripura. This is on top of the Rs. 18,322.80 crore that the center has disbursed to 27 states through the SDR fund,” he stated.

Of the 1554.99 crore total, Andhra Pradesh has been granted for Rs 608.08 crore, Nagaland for Rs 170.99 crore, Odisha for Rs 255.24 crore, Telangana for Rs 231.75 crore, and Tripura for Rs 288.93 crore. The statement was made two days after Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha met in Delhi. The Tripura chief minister reported that the meeting with Union Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi was fruitful. “We reviewed relief activities following the Tripura floods and talked about the state’s development agenda. The Tripura chief minister remarked, “I appreciate his valuable inputs and continued support.” After a flood struck the state in August 2024, Tripura suffered enormous losses.
