NIA arrests 25 in Tripura for human trafficking over two years

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested 25 individuals across Tripura for their alleged involvement in human trafficking cases during 2022 and 2023, according to data from the Tripura Legislative Assembly.

The report, based on records from the Tripura Police Department, revealed that 11 arrests were made in 2022, followed by 14 in 2023. The arrests spanned multiple districts, with 12 individuals apprehended in Sepahijala, 8 in the West District, 4 in Unakoti, and 1 in the South District.

Authorities highlighted the growing challenge of human trafficking in the region, emphasizing the need for enhanced vigilance and inter-agency coordination to combat the issue.
