The Indian Army honored a Manipur youth at the NDA

On November 30, at the 147th course passing out parade of the National Defence Academy (NDA), Cadet Jodha Thongjaomayum of Manipur received recognition from the Indian Army in Imphal for obtaining the President’s Bronze Medal. The statement added, “Army felicitated the cadet in presence of his proud parents.” Cadet Thongjaomayum hails from the Imphal East area of Manipur, specifically from Khurai Thoudam Leikai, Lamlong Bazar. He went to Imphal’s Sainik School from 2014 to 2016. He joined in Dehradun’s prestigious Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC) in 2017.

In January 2022, Thongjaomayum joined the NDA as a member of the 147th course, having completed three years of rigorous military training after graduating from RIMC in 2021. The Indian Army’s Spear Corps earlier Tuesday gave a modern Wushu Sanda Arena to the Bishnupur District Wushu Association in Nachou village, Manipur. The recently opened Wushu Sanda Arena is outfitted to give the area’s aspiring Wushu performers a place to practice and compete successfully, and it is designed in accordance with worldwide standards. The traditional martial art of wushu has become quite popular in India, especially in Manipur, which is renowned for producing gifted athletes in a variety of sports.
