Assam Rifles seizes heroin and methamphetamine across Mizoram

In collaboration with the Excise and Narcotics Department, the Assam Rifles seized 22 grams of Heroin No. 4 valued at Rs 15.40 lakh from the Zote neighborhood of Champhai, Mizoram. In this regard, a woman was also taken into custody. The forces conducted the operation in response to particular intelligence, which resulted in the finding of the contraband concealed within the woman’s garment bag. The seized package and the woman, known as Tlangmawii (40), have been turned over to the Excise and Narcotics Department, Champhai, for additional legal action. Assam Rifles, along with the Zokhawthar Police Department, recovered 22.676 kg of methamphetamine tablets valued at Rs 68.03 crore on Monday in the Balu Kai district of Zokhawthar as part of a separate operation to combat cross-border drug trafficking in Mizoram.

According to a news statement, forces from the Combined Operation Base (COB) in Zokhawthar conducted an ambush in the area in response to reliable intelligence, recovering a sizable drugs shipment. The united team saw a suspect with a brown sack cross the Tiau River during the operation. According to the announcement, 22.676 kg of methamphetamine pills were found after a comprehensive investigation of the region. These operations demonstrate the Assam Rifles’ and local authorities’ unwavering attempts to take down narcotics cartels that operate in border areas.
