On National Education Day, Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) celebrated its ongoing mission to empower India’s youth by bridging the skills gap and fostering economic independence. TKM’s initiatives have touched the lives of thousands of young people, especially those from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, by providing them with world-class training that leads to meaningful employment.
The Toyota Technical Training Institute (TTTI), a flagship program, has been a beacon of hope since its inception in 2007, offering a three-year residential training program in automobile manufacturing. TTTI has recently expanded to accommodate 1,200 students, with a special focus on empowering women by offering 600 seats dedicated to female trainees. The Toyota Kaushalya Program further supports rural youth, enabling them to “Learn and Earn” through on-the-job training while pursuing their studies.
In the Agartala, TKM’s initiatives are a game-changer, offering new opportunities for the region’s youth. With the growing demand for skilled professionals in the automotive and manufacturing industries, TKM’s programs help equip Agartala’s youth with the necessary skills to secure jobs and contribute to the local economy. These initiatives also help reduce the skill gap, empowering young individuals to be active participants in their community’s growth. G. Shankara, Executive VP at TKM, emphasized, “Our focus on skill development is aligned with building a stronger, self-reliant nation.”
