Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha stated on Tuesday that the state government has sanctioned Rs 1.50 crore for the purchase of Ayurvedic medicines. It should also be noted that the Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Foundation has expressed interest in constructing an Ayurvedic college in Tripura. CM Saha stated that there was a time when Ayurvedic medicine was inextricably related to nature. Foreign students used to come to India to study at institutes such as Nalanda and Takshashila. However, we are now proud to send our children abroad to study. PM Modi has established the Ministry of Ayush to brings all branches of medicine under one roof.
CM Saha emphasized the advances in Ayurvedic medicine. He also stated that the state has a variety of labs and an outpatient department where patients can visit on a regular basis. The chief minister mentioned the establishment of an Ayurvedic or homeopathic college. He went on to say that health equals wealth, and that if people’s health is poor, they will be unable to make effective use of human resources. The state will try to strengthen infrastructure. The government has sanctioned Rs 1.50 crore to acquire Ayurvedic medications, which will be distributed free of charge to the public.
