Care Health Insurance is urging young Indians to prioritize health insurance amid a troubling rise in cardiovascular disease (CVD) cases. A report from The Lancet reveals that India’s age-standardized death rate due to CVD is 282 per 100,000, significantly exceeding the global average of 233. Furthermore, India’s disability-adjusted life years (DALY) rate is 1.3 times higher than the global figure, indicating a pressing health crisis.

Mr. Ajay Shah, Head of Distribution at Care Health Insurance, remarked, “Heart ailments, once primarily affecting older populations, are now increasingly common among young adults due to factors like sedentary lifestyles and poor dietary habits.” In response, Care Health Insurance has introduced the Care Heart plan, offering extensive coverage, including regular check-ups and hospitalization support for those with pre-existing heart conditions.

The rising awareness of health risks has led to a noticeable increase in demand for health insurance. As residents grapple with lifestyle-related health issues, insurers are responding with tailored health products, reinforcing the importance of financial security in managing health emergencies and promoting a healthier community.
