Bandhan Bank has announced the launch of its Goods and Services Tax (GST) collection facility, enhancing convenience for taxpayers across India. This new feature allows both customers and non-customers to pay GST through the bank’s online platforms—Retail Internet Banking and Corporate Internet Banking—or at any of its branches using cash, cheque, or demand draft.
With a robust network of over 6,300 branches spanning 35 out of 36 states and Union Territories, Bandhan Bank is positioned to streamline GST payments for its extensive customer base of over 3.44 crore. This development aligns with the government’s push towards improved ease of business for citizens. Rajinder Babbar, Executive Director & Chief Business Officer at Bandhan Bank, emphasized, “This initiative represents a key milestone in our commitment to integrating government services into our offerings. We are dedicated to leveraging our technological capabilities to enhance customer convenience.”
From a market perspective in Agartala, the introduction of GST payment facilities at local Bandhan Bank branches is expected to significantly ease the tax payment process for businesses and individuals, contributing to smoother financial operations and compliance within the region. Founded on August 23, 2015, Bandhan Bank has rapidly grown to become one of India’s leading private sector banks, focusing on financial inclusion and serving underserved communities with a diverse range of banking products and services.
