SMFG India Credit marks 1000th branch milestone with commemorative stamp release

SMFG India Credit Co. Ltd., a prominent entity in India’s Non-Banking Financial Company (NBFC) sector, has achieved a significant milestone with the opening of its 1000th branch in Vashi, Navi Mumbai. To celebrate this accomplishment, the company, in partnership with India Post, unveiled a Special Cover & My Stamp.

The ceremony featured esteemed guests including Mr. YAGI Koji, Consul-General of Japan in Mumbai, and Mr. Abhijeet Bansode, Director – Postal Services (HQ) Maharashtra Circle, alongside SMFG India Credit’s CEO & MD, Mr. Shantanu Mitra. This milestone is reflective of SMFG India Credit’s strategic expansion, particularly in underpenetrated markets. Over the past two years, the company has added approximately 300 new branches, with 95% in Tier-2 and semi-rural locations.

In Agartala, the expanded presence of SMFG India Credit has energized the local market, offering enhanced financial options and driving economic growth in the region.“Our 1000th branch opening underscores our dedication to financial inclusion across India,” stated Mr. Mitra. “The release of the Special Cover & My Stamp celebrates our growth trajectory and contributions to the financial sector.”
