The detainee, identified as Md Mustafa, 37, hails from Uttar Kandail village in Cumilla district, Bangladesh. The arrest was made as part of the BSF’s intensified efforts to curb illegal immigration and dismantle trafficking networks in the region.

“The preliminary inquiry of the apprehended individual is currently underway. The BSF has significantly ramped up its operations against illegal Bangladeshi immigrants and is actively targeting the network of touts operating along the border,” a BSF spokesperson stated.
