Normal people are increasingly worried about the Zika virus. The central government has already understood that the matter is not very common. So they issued a warning before any adverse situation was created. Guidelines on the Zika virus have been issued by the Union Ministry of Health.
Zika is a mosquito-borne disease virus. This virus is usually transmitted by the Aedes mosquito. And since this is the rainy season, there is a fear that the outbreak of Zika may increase due to the increase in mosquitoes. Pregnant women are more likely to get this disease. Therefore, the Union Ministry of Health has ordered them to keep a special watch on them. A virus alert has been sent to all hospitals and health centers in all states and union territories.
The Center has made it clear that hospitals and health centers must have mosquito nets and use them as needed. Care must be taken to ensure that mosquitoes do not breed anywhere. It is especially important to seek medical advice as soon as symptoms appear. Fever is the first symptom reported in more than 80 percent of people infected with the Zika virus. Rashes can also be seen on the body. Some also have shortness of breath.
Doctors said that infection can spread not only through mosquito bites but also through sexual intercourse. The Zika virus spreads very quickly. But why worry so much about pregnant women? Because, if infected with this virus, the microcephaly of the fetus, i.e., the baby’s head, becomes smaller than normal. Babies can be born with an incomplete brain. Meanwhile, health authorities are worried because there is no such treatment for this mosquito-borne disease.
Since 2022, the prevalence of this virus has increased during the monsoon season. The virus spread mainly in southern states. Last year, there were reports of this virus again from Maharashtra. This time too, there have been reports of virus infection in the face of the monsoon. Panic has spread in Maharashtra and Karnataka.
