Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha of Tripura launched a scathing critique against the CPIM and Congress, attributing their governance to the suffering endured by the people of the state. Addressing an election rally in Chakmaghat, Khowai District, in support of BJP candidate Kriti Singh Debbarma, Dr. Saha confidently asserted that voters would spurn both parties in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Reflecting on the transformational shift in Tripura’s political landscape, Dr. Saha credited Prime Minister Modi and the BJP for breaking the decades-long dominance of the CPIM in the state since their historic victory in 2018. He emphasized the significant strides made towards fostering peace and stability in Tripura during the BJP’s tenure, contrasting it with the legacy of unrest under CPIM and Congress rule.
Highlighting the remarkable absence of violence during the 2023 Assembly elections, Dr. Saha underscored the burgeoning trust and support garnered by the BJP among the electorate. Expressing optimism for the BJP’s electoral prospects, he echoed PM Modi’s vision of securing over 370 seats in the Lok Sabha, with aspirations to surpass 400 seats collectively with the NDA alliance.
Dr. Saha lamented the past hardships endured by Tripura residents under CPIM rule, attributing the victory of fair elections to the BJP’s commitment to democratic principles. He reiterated the government’s unwavering dedication to comprehensive development and empowerment initiatives, particularly emphasizing the prioritization of women’s welfare through various schemes.
