Marking yet another milestone in Tripura’s infrastructure development, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is poised to inaugurate the state’s third Integrated Check Post (ICP) in Sabroom, South District, on March 9 through virtual means.
The upcoming inauguration of the Sabroom ICP adds to Tripura’s existing ICPs, including Agartala-Akahura in Agartala, West District, and Srimantapur in Sonamura, Sepahijala District. Situated near the Indo-Bangladesh Maitri Setu, the Sabroom ICP is strategically positioned to facilitate efficient cross-border trade and connectivity.
Sources within the Tripura government have confirmed that preparations are underway for the virtual inauguration, following a recent preliminary meeting. The event is expected to witness the presence of Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, cabinet ministers, Members of Parliament, including Rebati Tripura and Biplab Kumar Deb, Union Minister of State Pratima Bhoumik, Chief Secretary of Tripura JK Sinha, and Chairman of the Land Ports Authority of India, Aditya Mishra.
