For the urban development in the state, Tripura receives a significant uplift as the Central government sanctions Rs. 419 crore under the Special Assistance to Capital Incentives (Urban planning reforms) 2023-24 initiative. Announced via X, formerly known as Twitter, Tripura’s Chief Minister, Prof. Dr. Manik Saha, disclosed that the initial tranche of Rs. 83.80 crore has been disbursed to kickstart capital expenditure projects in the urban sector.
In a tweet, Dr. Saha expressed gratitude towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Minister for Housing & Urban Affairs, and Minister Hardeep S Puri for the allocation earmarked for Tripura’s development.
“This substantial infusion of Rs. 419 crore into Tripura’s urban development is a testament to the Central government’s commitment to bolstering infrastructure and urban planning reforms. With the first installment already in motion, Tripura stands poised to embark on transformative capital projects,” Dr. Saha remarked.
